Baja Mountain Kingsnake
Lampropeltis zonata agalma

This is one of the most beautiful kingnake species and also one of the smallest. They rarely attain lengths over 30 inches, which means that they will not require very large food items or large enclosures.  Naturally, the agalma subspecies occurs in northern Baja California in the Sierra Juarez and Sierra San Pedro Martir mountain ranges.  They are still quite rare in collections and there are only a handful of people breeding them at this time.  As with other snakes in this family, they are somewhat nervous as babies, and occasionally, vibrate their tails, and defecate when handled.  This behavior subsides with regular handling.

We have been keeping and breeding this species since 1997.
